Ghyalchok VDC is one of the 66 VDCs of Gorkha district. This VDC lies in the southern eastern part of the district which has Budhi Ganidaki river,(Dhading district) in east. The maps has been displayed in Annex 3. The topographical features of this VDC is slope hilly area which is remote one. The village people are still deprived form facilities of pitch road, electricity and communication. This VDC is near by Prithivi highway. Riversides of the VDC are the productive and some few productive area of this VDC. It has Tar, Besi which is productive for agriculture. So, most of the area of people are engaged in agriculture and left are engaged in other occupation such as business, service, study and foreign labour etc.In Ghyalchok VDC multi-ethnic communities are found. They are Brahmin, Gurung, Magar, Chhetri, Newar, Kami, Damai, Sarki, Muslim, Rai and others.
Out of them Brahmin are ahead in education, where as Sarki and Damai are deprived in education as well as economy than others. Agriculture is the main occupation of the study area. Most of the people are depending in agriculture and livestock. Some people are engaged on service especially in teaching, Business is found negligible, it means a few number of people are engaged in business and this is not the business center.

So, most of the people's main income source is agriculture. But some of them people are poor because of education and skill in working in daily labour in the field of agriculture. Among them Gurung people are also engaged in other occupation such like army in country and out of country.
