Mayur Vihar New Delhi Basic Information and Map
Mayur Vihar is a popular residential area in East Delhi. It is located around the Yamuna River in Delhi. Mayur Vihar, as the name suggests is the family of the peacock (Mayur). It is another approaching posh area in East Delhi. Since it lies close to Noida, Nizamuddin Bridge and South Delhi, the region is well associated.Mayur Vihar is a relatively recent growth of Delhi. It has been developed in 3 phases. It possesses its own shopping complexes and 2 shopping malls. Many more are coming up soon. Delhi Development Authority (DDA) developed Mayur Vihar as a residential area and divided the area into 3 phases. They are Mayur Vihar Phase I, Mayur Vihar Phase II and Mayur Vihar Phase III. The flats are fractioned into Lower income group, Middle Income group and higher income group flats.
Phase I is accomplished while other 2 phases are still developing. The area is well asserted and provides all the requirements. The famous picnic spot is Sanjay Lake in Phase II. The areas under mayor vihar are Vasundhra Enclave and Kalyanpuri.
Mayur Vihar Phase II has lots of South Indians homes, like Tamilians, Malayalees, Kannadigas, and Telugus and others such as Oriyas and Bengalis. There are several places of worship like temples and churches. Sanjay Jheel Park is one of the attractions in this area. Mayur Vihar Phase III is located close to NOIDA border on one side, Kondli and Kalyanpuri on the other side. Some of the places worth visiting are National Zoological Park, Aapno Ghar and Rajghat.
